Introduction to User Roles Within a STEKSHIELD Workspace

STEKSHIELD workspaces are structured environments where teams collaborate to manage STEK film distribution, installation, and warranty tasks. Each workspace has assigned user roles to keep things organized and secure.

Workspaces For Business

In the STEKSHIELD platform, a workspace is a collaborative virtual environment tailored for individuals or teams to work together on projects, leveraging the full suite of STEKSHIELD tools and resources. STEKSHIELD distinguishes between two main types of workspaces, each catering to different aspects of the business:

• Distributor Workspace: This workspace is managed by distributors who oversee the distribution of STEK products within specific geographic regions, such as STEK USA, STEK Germany, or STEK Australia. Distributors ensure that STEK products reach installation shops efficiently.
  
  
• Installation Shop Workspace: These workspaces are operated by entities that utilize STEK products in a particular area under the umbrella of a distributor. They focus on the actual application and installation of STEK products for end users.

To ensure seamless collaboration and distribution of responsibilities, Installation Shop Workspaces are required to be "Linked" with and obtain approval from a Distributor Workspace upon registration. 

This approval process guarantees that installation shops have legitimate access to STEKSHIELD and are correctly associated with their respective distributors.

Defining Workspace Roles

STEKSHIELD's workspace model incorporates various user roles designed to facilitate optimal management and operation within each workspace. These roles are tailored to address the specific needs and functions of different users, ensuring that each participant in the STEKSHIELD ecosystem can access and utilize the platform effectively.

• Workspace Owner: This person is in charge of the whole workspace administration. Workspace Owners possess the authority to oversee all aspects of the workspace. Owners have comprehensive access to manage settings, add or remove users, and decide what permissions others have. Their job is to make sure the workspace meets its goals and runs smoothly.
  
  
• Workspace Admin: Admins help manage the workspace on a day-to-day basis. Equipped with extensive permissions to manage daily activities, user roles, and content. While they have significant control over the workspace, certain critical functions remain exclusive to the Workspace Owner.
  
  
• Workspace Member: Members are the foundational users within the workspace, focusing on specific tasks and projects. They have access to tools and resources relevant to their roles but limited control over administrative settings. Members contribute to the workspace by executing assigned responsibilities and collaborating with peers.

Which STEKSHIELD Account Type Do I Need?

STEKSHIELD supports different user roles. Use this guide to understand which type applies to you:

? Distributor / Sub-Distributor

You sell STEK film to installers in a region.

• You must request access from STEK HQ.

• You can manage installer workspaces, monitor usage, and approve registrations.

• Contact support@stekshield.com or your STEK sales rep.

?️ Installer

You install STEK film at a local shop or mobile unit.

• You can sign up directly.

• Your workspace is created under a distributor.

• You can register warranties and submit claims.

? Car Owner

You had STEK film installed on your vehicle.

• You don’t sign up directly.

• When your installer registers a warranty, your account is auto-created.
